It's a new season...

Hello friend, it's been a while since we talked (obscure Mr. Robot reference). I am still an advocate of Bitcoin. I don't try to "talk people into it," but as someone that thinks Bitcoin will change the fabric of the world we live in, I feel an obligation to put my ideas out in the world. Share my thinking. Maybe I have some things right and maybe some things wrong, but I hope to at least make you stop and think.

People talk about Bitcoin as a "price" in US Dollars terms... like "Bitcoin is over $100K," and I get caught up in that too. But that is just a veneer for me, the surface layer. Deeper I think:

• what happens when the US Dollar keeps getting debased more and more, can that go on forever?
• will the political systems ever bring the monetary system under control? (no)
• Does it make sense, today, for one country's currency to be the "global" currency? That has given the US a massive advantage in some regards, but some of those positives are turning into negatives
• Should countries and corporations have the control to say what i spend my money on? I have had my bank account frozen and my Venmo halted for benign things, and I know many others who have had much worse, just in the US, not even considering much more difficult situations in the rest of the world
  So for me, I think about Freedom Money and changing how people think about Value, their own personal value and holding it for the long term for themselves and their family. Low Time Preference, chosing things for the long term. But balanced with living life and having memorable experiences with friends and family. More to come. For sure.
